The Galapagos!

“This is no joke,” my dear friend, Nicole, says the second day of our trip among the Galapagos Islands.

She’s absolutely correct.

We’re yachting around the Galapagos Islands in a beautifully appointed 120-foot vessel and we’re all reaching into our reserves to increase our stamina.

This is seriously no joke.

However, it’s breathtaking.

It’s stunning to be on islands without any other people.

It’s amazing to stay overnight in a volcanic crater.

It’s unbelievable to commune with sea lions, tortoises, albatrosses, penguins, flamingos, Christmas iguanas, and blue, Nasca and red-footed boobies.

We’ve seen things few people get to see in their lifetimes.

Rock formations at sea, rock-faced cathedrals, volcanic craters, , and red, coral, black & white sand remote beaches.

We’ve gotten to do things few people get to do in their lifetimes.

Snorkeling with sharks, kayaking with sea lions, hiking among seabirds and gazing at the stars in the southern hemisphere.

We got to visit the San Cristobal, Floreana, Espanola, Santa Cruz, Genovesa, Rabida and Chinese Hat islands.

Nicole’s right it’s no joke to go to the Galapagos, but it’s certainly a trip of a lifetime!
