Dunking

Man Dunking the BasketballAward winning poem by Nick Woods

The joy of a dunk

Getting that sick air

Jumping up so high

Hitting that rim

Hearing the sound of ball on nylon

The precision

The accuracy

The two-handed jam

The alley-oops

The crossover

Behind the back

Through the legs

It’s all so amazing

I don’t know how it feels however, because, see, I am only 4’ 10”
